INNOVATION + DESIGN

Heidi Lee

Heidi is CEO of Beyond Zero Emissions where she is working with the manufacturing sector to electrify Australian factories and power them with renewables.

She previously worked as an architect and is excited about the potential to drastically reduce embodied emissions in Australian-made building materials like cement, steel, bricks and plastic. Heidi is an invited guest lecturer and reviewer at local universities, on topics of sustainability, collaborative design and stakeholder engagement. Heidi has a long history with BZE and the Zero Carbon Australia collaboration, including project managing BZE’s 2013 plan to decarbonise all of Australia’s buildings, peer reviews and a term on the BZE Board of Directors.

Heidi’s

Perspective

“Global demand for low-carbon goods and services is currently outstripping supply. Australian manufacturers can rapidly transition to zero emissions energy and capitalise on this enormous opportunity to secure high-quality jobs and strong regional communities.“
