Major General ANM Muniruzzaman

Major General ANM Muniruzzaman, ndc, psc, (Retd), is the former Military Advisor to the President of Bangladesh.


He is Chairman of the Global Military Advisory Council on Climate Change and has worked extensively on the security implications of climate change. His writings on climate security issues have been published widely. He briefed the UN Security Council on security implications of sea-level rise and has also spoken at US Senate briefing on climate security. He was named in Climate 25, a global list of strategic voices on climate change and is the President of Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS), a leading institution in Bangladesh for informed analysis and research on Bangladeshi and South Asian conflict and security issues.
