Qiao is the driving force behind Maoneng’s portfolio and has struck multiple game-changing renewable energy deals, the latest being with AGL to develop four 50MW/100MWh large-scale batteries over the next 15 years.
He’s also worked with the ACT government to help develop the Mugga Lane solar farm in Canberra; a formative moment in helping ACT achieve its 100 per cent renewable energy goal last year. Qiao has a strong background in engineering, construction and smart investment, with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, a Masters in Sustainable Processing, and a Masters of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
He’s responsible for Maoneng’s investment strategy, and the execution and delivery of renewable energy assets for the group. Qiao works to strike up commercial and government partnerships that can advance Maoneng’s solar battery farms and solar battery storage solutions, moving Australia towards a 100% renewable energy future.
