Tony is a multi-award winning author, respected curator, a renowned community activist and public intellectual, and currently the inaugural recipient of the Dr Bruce McGuinness Indigenous Research Fellowship at Victoria University.

He has a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Melbourne and a PhD in Urban cultures and histories. Tony lectures in Creative Writing; Autofictions; Writing Literary Non-fiction and Writing Genealogies of Place. His work has been widely published both nationally and internationally. He has presented in work in Australia and internationally (in Europe, North America and South America).
