The City of Melbourne is proud to be part of a local and international movement recognising that we are in a climate emergency that requires urgent action to reduce emissions and to address climate change impacts.
Declaring a climate emergency has rallied our community and encouraged us to look at our plans and partnerships to ensure they’re in line with our values, and community expectations. It’s a work in progress, and while we may not have answers for everything immediately, we’re working to ensure we’re doing everything we can to protect our city and our planet.
On behalf of Melbourne we are continuing to lead and call for ambitious and rapid climate change action among our residents, community organisations, businesses, investors and all levels of government in Australia to restore a safe climate.
