The University has a long-standing commitment to sustainability and
implements genuine and practical actions across all campuses to address the
climate change challenge.
RMIT is well on the way to meeting its commitment to be carbon neutral by 2030,
having already invested over $128M in energy efficiency building upgrades and on-
site renewables. The University is a member of the Melbourne Renewable Energy
Project which has brought together like-minded organisations to jointly fund a new
80MW wind farm outside Ararat. RMIT is now leading a second purchasing group to
further increase the proportion of renewable energy in its supply chain.
RMIT is proud of the significant progress we are making against our ambitious
sustainability goals. In everything we do, we aim to be leaders and champions for
impactful change in the communities we serve and beyond.
