SOCIAL CHANGE & ACTIVISM

Adrian Whitehead

Adrian Whitehead is co-founder of Beyond Zero Emissions, Save the Planet political party, and Community Action for the Climate Emergency (CACE).

Adrian played a significant role in inspiring Darebin City Council to create the world‘s first local government Climate Emergency Plan which led to the creation of CACE to encourage and support other councils in adopting a Climate Emergency response. Adrian organised and hosted a seminar about how Darebin City Council adopted a community-wide climate emergency plan at the Sustainable Living Festival in Melbourne in 2019, along with panel members Philip Sutton, two councillors from Darebin and Adrian’s partner Bryony.

Adrian’s

Perspective

“Once we start reaching out to diverse groups through volunteers from the community working hand in hand with council to get a combined approach, the climate emergency message will be unstoppable”
