Margaret Hender is the Chair at Citizens Own Renewable Energy Network Australia (CORENA), a not-for-profit organisation that provides a practical and effective way for citizens to collectively fund new renewable energy installations now, instead of just waiting on government action.

“In order to engage and even remember that there’s a climate emergency happening, people need to believe they can do something. Because it’s not rational to know there’s an emergency and not be doing anything.”

Margaret initiated the Climate Emergency Petition to the Australian parliament, urging politicians to declare a climate emergency and take action accordingly. She is also the developer of the One Person Can project, a No More Bad Investments (NMBI) campaigner, and ex-freelance translator.
