Simon Holmes a Court

Simon Holmes à Court, the son of one of Australia’s great mining entrepreneurs, is currently senior advisor to the Energy Transition Hub at Melbourne University and a board member of the Smart Energy Council.

Simon has been a pioneering force in the Australian community power movement as the founding chair of Hepburn Community Wind Farm, the country’s first community owned wind farm near Daylesford. He is also the founder of Observant – a Melbourne company that provides in-field hardware and cloud based applications for precision farm water management, as well as Embark Australia, a non-profit consultancy helping communities share the benefits of local renewable energy.

Simon’s

Perspective

“Our only chance to maintain our standard of living, and our economy, is if all countries rapidly decarbonise. We cannot expect global progress if we ourselves aren’t prepared to at least pull our weight, let alone show any leadership.“
