DAY 2

The global movement to formally declare a climate emergency represents one of the most significant series events for climate action.

Declaring a climate emergency should position a government, institution, business, industry body, community group, or any other type of organisation to be able to place top priority on responding to climate change in either the work they do or in how they carry it out.

The second key theme of the Summit Program looks at how we can close the gap between climate emergency acknowledgement and response and propel action Beyond the Declarations. Sessions within the Beyond the Declarations theme will unpack what a safe and just climate emergency response could look like at local, state, and national levels and action pathways for Australia that could be replicable on a global scale.
